We have some new events for 2019 on the way. We also collaborate closely with:
Orkney International Science Festival
5-11 September 2019
There are over 60 events in the seven-day programme which will be announced by the star of June. Topics will range from early mapmaking to new directions for space exploration, from seaweed as a nutrient to plant-hunting in Central Asia, from the story of the cloud chamber to new ideas about the nature of life. There is more background on the Festival website and in its online magazine.
Some earlier Going Nova events involving science and technology in the north of Scotland included:
Highland Science Festival
1-15 November 2008
The second Highland Science Festival was a big success, with events from Applecross and Achiltibuie to Cromarty and Kingussie – you can find out more about it on the Festival website.
Going Nova III – Schools Day

A day for 5th and 6th year secondary science pupils, in advanced topics from robotics and space exploration to spectroscopy and quantum theory. We have a report on the Schools page and a range of pictures in the Gallery.
