Highland Science Festival
1-15 November 2008
The second Highland Science Festival was a big success, with events from Applecross and Achiltibuie to Cromarty and Kingussie you can find out more about it on the Festival website.

Going Nova III Schools Day
Friday 28th November 2008 at Horizon Scotland, Forres
A day for 5th and 6th year secondary science pupils, in advanced topics from robotics and space exploration to spectroscopy and quantum theory. We have a report on the Schools page and a range of pictures in the Gallery.

Highlands Astronomical Society Mini Science Festival: 400 Years of Astronomy in the Highlands 21-28 March 2009
Talks, children's dark sky events, night sky observing sessions - with themes ranging from the archaeoastronomy of the Clava Cairns to exploring the Solar System. And don't forget the Messier Challenge! Most of the events will be held at Culloden Battlefield, in the visitor centre there or in the nearby Jim Savage-Lowden Observatory built by the Society. Orkney International Science Festival 3-9 September 2009
In the year of the anniversary of Robert Burns and the Scottish Homecoming, the Festival will feature 'For A' That'  a presentation of the Earth Charter by visitors from Australia. The event, in St Magnus Cathedral on the evening of Saturday 5 September, will feature stunning images of Australian widllife and scenery and music from the Kirkwall City Pipe Band. Details will appear on the Festival website.
